Isabelle started smiling this week. It's still here and there, so we haven't been able to catch it on camera yet, but she's doing it. What a boost. :) She continues to nap to the sound of the vacuum cleaner and go to sleep each night with Ben swinging her in the car seat. Craziness.
As for me, things are becoming more routine. We've had a flexible schedule for about a week now. We're sleeping well at night. But there are just less hours in the day to do things when you're nursing every 2-3 hours for 40 minutes. I don't crave time out of the house to do things - mostly just the time to do things around the house, like file all the paper sitting around, and sort my clothes so I can stop wearing the same pair of pants to church because I don't know if anything else fits.
My friend Sherilyn and I have continued our Gilmore Girls night on Mondays. We watch 3 episodes from her DVD collection and catch up on our week. She is pregnant with her first, so now we talk a lot about babies and pregnancy. The show makes me laugh and always cheers me up no matter how depressed I feel.
It's snowing again here and I'm going to spend today at home, writing endless thank you notes and doing housework. I'm still puzzled as to how I'm going to return to work, but people keep saying it will get easier. What I really miss is working with Ben, and I'd like to think that he misses me at work. The office is kind of a mess - I'm usually the one filing all the paper and sorting everything. And that's because I like doing it.
